The 1st Volleyball Tournament of AEFE (French Schools Abroad Agency) and the young UNSS league in North America was held on January 24th, 25th and 26th at Rochambeau, The French International School, Washington DC.
During these 3 days, 80 players from the French schools in Chicago and New York were welcomed by their Washington, DC host students.
The 71 matches took place in a warm atmosphere and a very sporting spirit.
The students were able to get to know one another on the wood parquet but also during the cultural visits that took them from the Lincoln Memorial to the White House, from the Washington Monument to the National Museum of American History, and ending with a visit to the US Capitol.
The spectators were really impressed by the technical skills of all the players.
In the end, the Chicago teams earned the best overall record, followed by the New York teams and Rochambeau. The Chicago teams won the top spot for the Middle School Boys, High School Girls, and Mixed divisions, and the New York teams took the top spot for the Middle School Girls tournament.
Congratulations to all the athletes!
And thank you to Sébastien Perotti, Rochambeau PE teacher and Tournament organizer.
