Toutes nos félicitations à Milla pour son prix reçu dans ce programme 2024 des Scholastic Art & Writing Awards !
Milla, élève de 2nde, a reçu une Silver Key pour son poème soumis à la Junior Scholastic Writing and Arts Competition.
Son texte lauréat est "Dear Gaia, From Theia", poème en vers libres sous forme de dialogue racontant l'amour finalement voué à l'échec entre la Terre et la Lune.
Texte de Milla traduit de l'anglais :
"J'ai bénéficié du soutien de ma famille et de mes amis, mais surtout de ma professeure d'anglais actuelle, Mme Finney, et de ma professeure d'anglais précédente, Mme Zappe. Toutes deux m'ont aidée à améliorer mes compétences en matière d'écriture et m'ont donné des recommandations sur mes textes. J'aimerais les remercier de leur contribution dans l'attribution de ce prix et de m'avoir encouragée à poursuivre l'écriture créative dans son ensemble.
Bien que ce ne soit pas la première année que je soumets et que je gagne aux Scholastic Awards, cette année est particulièrement spéciale pour moi parce qu'elle représente un tournant dans la maturité de mon écriture.
L'écriture a toujours été ma passion, que ce soit en français ou en anglais, et j'aimerais encourager tout le monde à continuer ou à commencer à écrire. J'ai fondé mon propre club "Les Lumières de Rochambeau" pour promouvoir la langue française à travers la littérature et l'art. Plus important encore, j'espère que mon histoire sera une source d'inspiration pour d'autres personnes afin qu'elles continuent à écrire et à créer."
Congratulations to Milla on her recognition as a young writer in the 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards!
Milla, 10th grader, has won a Silver Key in the Junior Scholastic Writing and Arts Competition.
The winning piece is "Dear Gaia, From Theia". It is a poem in free verse set as a dialogue recounting the ultimately doomed love between the Earth and the Moon.
I had the support of my family and friends, but especially my current English teacher Ms. Finney and my previous English teacher Ms. Zappe. Both of them helped me improve my writing skills and gave me recommendations on my pieces. Having contributed to my receiving the award, I would like to thank them for encouraging me to pursue creative writing as a whole.
While this is not the first year that I have submitted and won at the Scholastic Awards, this year is particularly special for me because it represents a turning point for me in the maturity of my writing.
Writing has always been my passion, whether it be in French or in English, and I would like to encourage everyone to continue or start to create. I have founded my own club "Les Lumières de Rochambeau" to promote the French language through literature and art. Most importantly, I hope that my story will be an inspiration for others to continue writing and creating.

Tous les parents de Primaire sont invités aux parades d'Halloween ! Maternelle et CP à 9h15 et CE1 au CM2 à 11h15. Tous les élèves sont invités à mettre leur plus beau costume d'Halloween pour l'occasion.
All primary school parents are invited to the Halloween parades! Preschool, K and 1st G at 9:15am, and 2nd to 5th G at 11:15am. All students are invited to wear their best Halloween costumes for this occasion.
