Women History Month
Le mois de l'Histoire des Femmes est une période consacrée à la célébration des contributions des femmes à l'histoire, à la culture et à la société.
Ce qui a commencé officiellement comme la Semaine nationale de l'histoire des femmes en 1980, a été étendu à des célébrations qui durent tout le mois de mars depuis 1987. Le thème de la célébration de cette année est "Les courageuses femmes du vote : Refusant d'être des silences". Ce thème est en fait une continuation de ce qui a été commencé en 2020, lorsque le nombre de célébrations était limité. Ce thème devrait nous inciter à réfléchir plus profondément au sujet du suffrage des femmes, notamment à l'adoption du 19e amendement de la Constitution américaine, qui a donné le droit de vote aux femmes à partir de 1920. Cet amendement, bien qu'il s'agisse d'une réalisation importante, a été l'aboutissement d'une lutte de plus de 100 ans pour le droit de vote.
Rencontre avec Tania de Montaigne, journaliste et auteur
Dans le cadre de la Journée Internationale des Femmes, les élèves de 1ère - spécialité histoire géographie ont pu interwiever Tania de Montaigne, journaliste et auteur française. Elle est intervenue pour parler de Claudette Colvin la première femme noire américaine qui a refusé de laisser sa place dans un bus aux États Unis. Elle y a consacré un livre qui a par la suite été adapté au théâtre. La discussion a porté sur ces femmes noires américaines qui on porté le Mouvement Américain des Droits Civiques.

Women's History Month is a time dedicated to celebrating the contributions of women to history, culture and society.
What began officially as National Women's History Week in 1980, was expanded to celebrations lasting the full month of March ever since 1987. The theme for this year's celebration is "Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silences." This theme is actually a continuation of what was started in 2020 when so many celebrations were limited. This theme should inspire us to think more deeply on the topic of women's suffrage, including the passage of the 19th amendment to the US Constitution, which gave voting rights to women starting in 1920. This amendment, while a milestone achievement, was the culmination of a 100+ year fight for the right to vote.
Interview with Tania de Montaigne, journalist and author
On Monday, March 8 , the class of Premiere Spécialité Histoire géographie géopolitique et sciences politiques interviewed Tania de Montaigne. Ms de Montaigne, a former student of the École des Hautes Etudes Internationales et Politiques, began her career in television in 1995. She is now a columnist for Liberation and teaches at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris where she organizes writing workshops. Ms de Montaigne is also a renowned novelist and essayist. She published Noire, la vie méconnue de Claudette Colvin aux éditions Grasset in 2015.
For the second time, Ms de Montaigne agreed to speak to our students as part of Black History Month and International Women's Day. She was able to show the essential role of three female figures of the civil rights movement: Claudette Colvin, Rosa Park and Jo Ann Robinson.
The class discussions were fruitful and the students appreciated her dynamic and cheerful personality. She happily answered the students' questions.
We anticipate the article the students will write about this interview will be exciting .
