Teacher with students in the classroom

Dear Parents

Success in tomorrow’s workplace begins today - at Rochambeau!

Because we are devoted to preparing all of our students to meet tomorrow’s challenges and seize opportunities, we proudly invite you to participate in the 5th edition of the RocHackathon project.

The "RocHackathon" is based on the objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, goal #6. For several weeks now, our 11th-grade students (French Bac & International Bac) have been working in teams to develop innovative but realistic solutions to solve water issues.

The project focuses on awareness of the challenges of sustainable development, teamwork, public speaking, organization of ideas, and motivation.

The project allows each participating student to acquire a problem-solving logic through innovation, thanks to an effective process of reflection. Students have been researching, identifying problems, and thinking about solutions to address them to come up with an innovative, realistic, and feasible proposal.

To help them perfect their solution and showcase their work, we would like to ask for your expertise and collaboration. We can offer you a range of dates and formats for working with students to advise, coach, and encourage them and/or be part of the jury. The top two teams will be selected and will enter the international competition water4future, next March.

Mark your calendars! How can you be part of this project?

Mentor our students: If you can volunteer some of your time (in-person or virtually), share your expertise with our student teams and give them feedback - February 6th, 8th, 15th

Join our RocHackathon Jury: our panel of experts who will review the student project presentations and select our top two teams - March 11th

Mentor our students during the Water4Future Hackathon: Water4Future is an international innovation contest to address urban water challenges and design a sustainable future - online competition on March 18, 19 and 21st

To RSVP to mentor our students, join the RocHackathon Jury, and coach the winning teams during the water4future event, please fill out this form.

We hope that RocHackathon becomes a powerful and unforgettable milestone for our 11th-grade students. The students and the school will be honored to have you involved in this project.
