Health requirements for Rochambeau students must comply with the local requirements of Montgomery County, Maryland. These regulations may be different from the health policies in France or other schools located elsewhere. Please contact nurse@rochambeau.org regarding health policy related questions.
A Record of Physical Examination (Health Assessment) is required for all new students and returning students entering 1st, 7th, and 10th grades.
IHP (PAI) - Individual Health Plans for students with existing medical conditions. These forms must be completed yearly by a doctor licensed in the US. Please call the nurse for more information or see the tab "Notify-existing illness or requires medication.
Any medication or antibiotics to be administered during school hours must be accompanied with a physician's order and parental consent, please use this form: Authorization To Administer Prescribed Medication
Medication- Montgomery County School Policy does not allow transport of any medication to or from school by children. Medications must be brought by the parents to the nurse with the appropriate forms. We cannot accept medications or forms separately.

Emergency contacts - name and phone number of a contact other than a parent must be provided. This is an annual requirement.

Asthma: If your child has asthma and requires an inhaler while at school please have a health care provider licensed in the United States complete this form.

Notes: Over the counter medications may be authorized on this Health Portal from the home page. Click on the Medications tab on the left bar, then OTC and place a check by all authorized medications. Then click save. You will receive an email asking you to authorize these medications.
Notification of existing illness or requires medication at school
If your child has an existing medical condition (asthma, allergies…) or requires medication during school hours, contact a school nurse to inform them and submit the appropriate forms. These forms must be completed each year by a Health Care Provider licensed in the United States.
Please speak with the school nurse and your child’s teacher regarding health concerns. If your child has a medical concern not found here, the school nurse can help you develop a plan of care for your child.
Sick Child at School - We will notify you if your child is sick at school. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up from school as soon as possible.
Rochambeau uses an electronic health record system You can scan and submit the required medical forms online, and complete or update your child's file electronically.
All families will be receiving an introductory email with instructions. Pending access to this portal, please contact nurse@rochambeau.org if you have any questions.
Please keep your child home if they are sick or have any of the following: fever, diarrhea, vomiting, cough or sore throat.
They may return to school only if fever free without the use of medication. A fever is a temperature of more than 100.4 degrees fahrenheit (38 degrees celsius).
If your child has been diagnosed with an infectious illness, please notify us at nurse@rochambeau.org as soon as possible to discuss your child’s return to school.

We are using an electronic health portal. You will be receiving an email fromwith your code to upload the completed forms.
If you are living abroad, we encourage you to complete the Physical Examination and Student Immunization Certificate with your local doctor. A Health Care Provide licensed in the United States is required to complete medication forms and forms pertaining to existing medical conditions. For all students in 1st grade through 12th grade:
An email will be sent when you may log on to SNAP to authorize over-the-counter medications for use during school hours. This is required every year. Please do not do this until you are notified by email.
For all students Preschool to 12th grade:
You will be asked to update contact information and medical conditions in two systems.
SNAP will make a request and the school will send an email with a link to update emergency contact information and medical concerns.

A health portal SNAP is accessible for all families. We invite you to download the forms, complete them and then upload in SNAP.
We endeavour to limit students time away from class.
If a student has a temperature of >100 °F or is vomiting, the parent or guardian is immediately contacted and asked to collect the student.
We understand problems caused by work issues and long commute times, and will assist you as much as possible, but please avoid having your child remain in the infirmary for an entire school day. Please make alternative plans in advance for someone to take care of your child in case of illness.
The Forest Road campus infirmary is generally staffed from 8:00-5:30pm.
The Maplewood campus infirmary is generally staffed from 8:00-4:00 or from 9:00-5:00pm.
In case of illness, children should remain home until fever free and/or no longer vomiting for 24 hours. Please consider both your child's needs and the welfare of other students.
In order for prescription medication to be administered, the appropriate form must be signed by both a parent and a doctor. Prescribed medication kept in the clinic will accompany students on field trips. Medication must be kept in its original container.
Undesignated or “stock” Epinephrine auto injectors are kept on the school premises for emergency treatment of students with an unknown history or a severe allergic reaction. Please note that such undesignated auto injectors are not sent on field trips.
Students are not permitted to carry medication while at school without prior written authorization from their doctor and parents or guardian.
A limited list of over-the-counter medications may be administered to students by the nurses with the prior consent of parents or guardians.
We strongly encourage students and families to receive the yearly influenza vaccine.
