USMA PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
Leadership - West Point is the premier leadership institution of the nation and arguably the world. Our graduates include 2 US Presidents, 20 astronauts, 33 members of Congress, 83 Medal of Honor Recipients, 89 Olympic Athletes, and nearly 100 Rhodes Scholars. We are the first Service Academy upon which all others were modeled after with the most extensive list of distinguished graduates. Many graduates take their leadership lessons from service and become leaders in corporate America like the CEO of SoFi (Anthony Noto), the owners of the NHL Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights (Vincent Viola & Bill Foley), CEO of Johnson and Johnson (Alex Gorsky), and the CEO of 7-Eleven (Joseph DePinto). Others continue to serve in the Army becoming General Officers or serve in other government agencies after their time in the Army such as NASA, the FBI, and the Secret Service to name a few. You will always find West Pointers in key leadership roles.
Top-Tier Education & Graduate Scholarship Program - West Point offers a world class education being named top 2 public schools, #9 liberal arts colleges, and #5 for undergraduate engineering programs by US News and World Report. We offer 36 majors and 19 minors balanced across STEM, social sciences, and humanities which is the most of any service academy. There are opportunities to go to medical or graduate school immediately after West Point through our West Point Scholarship Programs. Last year approximately 7% of the graduating class went on to medical or graduate school. In 2022, we had four women Rhodes Scholars tying with Harvard and this year we had two. We are #5 for most Rhodes Scholars of all time, #7 for most Marshall Scholars, and were recently named a Fulbright Top Producer for US students. We have nearly twice as many total Rhodes Scholars as the next service academy! Network - West Point will instill a toughness in you, and you will have a tight connection with your classmates. You will conduct 19 weeks of field training during your 47-month experience to include throwing grenades, buddy team live fire, land navigation, obstacle courses and more. You will complete physical training classes to include boxing, military movement (gymnastics), survival swimming, and combatives (like Jiu Jitsu). Your Class will march back from Beast with your Class Motto on a banner, and you will celebrate other milestones together – Acceptance Day (A-Day), Plebe Parent Weekend, Yearling Winter Weekend, Affirmation, 500th Night, Ring Weekend, 100th Night, and Graduation. My West Point network is stronger than my business school network because of how much you do as a class together at West Point, and West Pointers are always excited to see each other.
Athletics - We have 29 Division 1 teams that you can potentially compete on. 25% on our Corps of Cadets are D1 athletes. Whether or not you can compete on the team is up to the coach and you can find the coaches directories on this site – Army West Point - Official Athletics Website (goarmywestpoint.com).
Career Opportunities - After graduation you can serve our Nation in a variety of roles. We send 4-5% to Cyber which is more than any other service academy, we send about 13% to engineering which is more than any other service academy, and we send up to 2% to medical school which is more than any other service academy. We send 10% of the graduating class to flight school to fly helicopters. We have opportunities in human resources, finance, medical administration, logistics, military police, chemical, and IT. We have roles in infantry, armor, field artillery, and air defense artillery. The opportunities are endless!
Internships and Semesters Abroad - We offer hundreds of academic, military, and athletic internships as well as semester abroad opportunities in countless locations across the world.
